Drag Den 2
For Drag Den S2, airing on Amazon Prime Video, I collaborated with another creative as part of a project commissioned by Cornerstone Studios and Project 8 Projects to design set collaterals for the show. Set in a post-apocalyptic Tondo, Manila in 2052, the concept immerses viewers in a chaotic, neon-lit future. Our work mainly focused on two areas: The Alley and The Arcade.
Role:
The Alley: We designed vibrant, psychedelic posters inspired by the art style of Alton-Kelly, infused with Filipino drag humor and pop culture. I did posters that featured playful references like "Bading, ang Bato!" (a nod to Darna), “Wanted Tubero,” and old-school liquor ads. We also created punny Filipino store signage inspired by sari-sari stores, with names like "Kush N’ Keri," "Buratz Doll Shop," and "Paminta Hardware."
The Arcade: We developed the arcade machine design featuring Manila Luzon as the central character. The designs incorporated the show’s “Dragdagulan” concept, where the swinging ball is a key element. The art style was intentionally psychedelic to match the overall theme.
In line with Filipino humor, we also created funeral photo-inspired tarpaulins for each drag queen, used during elimination rounds as a playful nod to Filipino culture.
